This is the website for Note-Orious
A fun, friendly, community choir celebrating 12 years of singing in Dulwich
Note-Orious are a fun, friendly community choir based in East Dulwich. We currently rehearse at Dulwich Hamlet Football Club on Monday evenings. Our repertoire is a mix of rock and pop, from Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell to Lady Gaga and the Jonas Brothers.
We have around 40 members – men and women from all walks of life who come together once a week to sing. There is no audition, and anyone can join, as long as they can sing in tune.
In regular times, before we were hit by Covid-19, we held frequent concerts in and around East Dulwich, as well as forays further afield to the South Bank, London Bridge Station and Southwark Park.
We are delighted to be getting back to live performance with our first indoor concert in 2 years at Herne Hill Baptist Church on Saturday 13th November - see the News tab for more details. We raise money for RedThread, a youth charity originally based just over the hill at King's College Hospital.
Most songs are performed in four-part harmony – lower and higher male voices (Bass and Tenor) and lower and higher female voices (Alto and Soprano). We provide sheet music, but you don’t need to read music as teaching tracks are available to help you learn your part. There is also plenty of time to learn each song, with rehearsals taking place in a supportive environment.
During lockdown we released two tracks performed online - From A Distance and Together in Electric Dreams. Both are still available on our YouTube channel.
